We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Support and Maintenance Officer to join our HR Systems Development and Maintenance Team.
What will be expected from me?
The purpose of this role is to provide competent advice and support to users throughout the business, delivering system-based solutions that improve our HR Systems and deliver sustained performance improvements and efficiencies.
To do this you will be use your IT knowledge and analytical skills to identify solutions to problems, provide support, guidance and training for users where appropriate. You will be involved in implementing new ways of working to drive continuous and sustained performance improvements and efficiencies.
What I might be doing?
- You will Provide systems support, maintenance, trouble-shoot and solve problems to ensure the effective running of all front-line HR systems.
- Support in the re-engineering of internal and external business processes.
- Audit processes to assist in the reduction of errors and improve system accuracy and service delivery.
- Plan, design, develop, test and implement system solutions for short, medium and long-term projects.
- Ensure that systems are accurate, controls and procedures are maintained and adhered to which have a direct impact on HR transactions.

Essential requirements:
- Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification plus relevant experience.
- Knowledge of a range of IT Systems, system development tools and techniques including HTML, CSS, HRMIS systems, and Microsoft Desktop Packages
- Knowledge of IT marketplace to ‘future-proof’ the service
- Experience of working with users to deliver pragmatic solutions to complex issues and problems
- Understanding of the Local Government business and its key functions would be desirable
