Melbreck are working a multinational, class-leading innovator of the worlds most advanced specialist equipment, that supplies every industry, from Medical Devices through to the Automotive Sector.
They have had a fantastic 2023, with planned sales exceeding expectations and as such are looking to expand their technical purchasing and planning function.
As such they are looking to hire a Buyer / Planner to join their business ASAP.
Buyer - Planner - Role Overview:
The role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely procurement and stocking of finished goods, components, and raw materials in alignment with customer requirements and sales orders.
Buyer - Planner - Role Responsibilities:
Efficiently support all sourcing activities using ERP/MRP planning methods.
Manage inventory and safety stock levels, optimizing service performance with the most effective use of capital.
Ensure purchase orders reflect demand and forecast requirements against stock levels and order quantities (PFEP)
Analyze data using Excel, creating pivot charts to identify key areas for supplier performance improvements.
Employ negotiation skills to secure optimal delivery dates from vendors.
Resolve supplier invoicing discrepancies, including unit cost, quantity received, freight charges, and part number.
Engage in key stakeholder management with engineering, production, intercompany sales, and operations functions.
Advocate for and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service and cost efficiency.
Buyer - Planner – Candidate Requirements:
Experience within supply chain, preferably in planning in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent organizational skills to support structured working.
Proficiency in evaluating data using Excel, with the ability to create pivot charts to identify key areas for supplier performance improvement.
Strong negotiation skills to ensure best delivery dates from vendors.
Proven problem-solving capabilities and experience.
Buyer - Planner – Hours and Benefits:
Mon to Thurs 8am-4.30pm
Friday 8am-2pm
