Buyer - Poole - £40,000

A leading global instrumentation manufacturing company are currently recruiting a Buyer to join their growing team.

As a Raw Materials Buyer, your primary responsibility will be to source the necessary products and services at optimal cost and timing, aligning with MRP requisites and approved requests to uphold business objectives and anticipated inventory levels. Collaboration with fellow purchasing team members and various departments within the organization will be essential.

Key responsibilities of the Buyer include:

• Negotiating the procurement of raw materials and castings as dictated by MRP-generated requisites, ensuring On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery targets are consistently met.
• Evaluating MRP rescheduling needs and making informed decisions based on outcomes.
• Continuously analyzing data and recommending adjustments to procurement and stocking strategies to enhance efficiency, such as improving inventory turnover, minimizing stock levels, reducing lead times, and realizing cost savings.
• Executing all purchasing activities with precision and professionalism in accordance with business demands.
• Engaging with suppliers to uphold quality, commercial terms, and delivery commitments aligned with organizational requirements.
• Contributing to the development of suppliers in line with business needs and supplier reduction/rationalization initiatives.
• Supporting inventory reduction efforts by procuring parts strategically, aligned with efficient logistics and replenishment systems.
• Ensuring adequate stock levels for production requirements on flow lines.
• Conducting supplier visits to ascertain core competencies and cultivate robust, professional relationships.

To be successful in this role you will be able to display a strong background in procurement within manufacturing, including being CIPS Level 4 qualified.
