Buyer / Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Procurement Specialist/ Buyer

Location: Aberdeen, Nailsea, Leicester, or Newcastle (Multiple offices)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM (flexible morning login time), 1-day remote working, early Friday log off.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Procurement, specifically in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear industry, or from an Engineering background.

Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Negotiation:

   • Negotiate the best cost and delivery terms with suppliers.
   • Place and follow up on Purchase Orders (POs) for assigned commodities.

2. Relationship Management:

   • Manage effective working relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth PO execution.
   • Actively participate in supplier performance reviews.

3. Supply Chain Coordination:

   • Manage problems and schedule changes to ensure on-time delivery.
   • Update ERP system to ensure accurate planning.

4. Solution Development:

   • Develop new solutions under guidance or in a team setting.
   • Balance tactical execution with strategic initiatives for cost and lead time reduction.

5. Collaboration:

   • Work with Commodity Buyers on technical and commercial developments to enhance manufacturing processes and product knowledge.
   • Collaborate with high-level individuals within the business.

6. Project Contribution:

   • Actively contribute as a team member or lead small projects.
   • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for assigned commodities.

7. Sourcing Compliance:

   • Apply sourcing policies and ensure compliance.
   • Interface between supplier and entity regarding specifications and budgets.

Skills:

• Strong experience in handling suppliers in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear industry, or Engineering background.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Self-starter with high motivation.
