SalaryAn excellent opportunity has arisen for Buyer / Procurement professional to join a well-established and successful steelwork manufacturing business based in Derbyshire (easily commutable from the M1/A38). Buyer Role Overview:
- To carry out steel procurement activities (buying steel sections (UBs, PFCs, Angle, Flat/Plate) on a day-to-day basis, sourcing from various suppliers.
- Buying associated items such as nuts, bolts, paint as well as external services such as galvanising, section bending etc.
- To negotiate cost and lead time reductions with suppliers where possible.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Buyer requirements:
- Good purchasing/buying experience withing a steelwork engineering/fabrication environment.
- Good attention to detail.
- Computer literate.
- Be financially and commercially astute.
