Job description

Since the 1980's, our clients have been one of the UK’s leading providers of car and van leasing deals, catering to both businesses and private individuals. The organisation also offers a unique fleet management software which was built in-house.

Due to continued growth, the business is looking to expand their purchasing team.

Purchasing/Procurement experience from within vehicle sales or leasing is ideal however similar industies may be considered e.g. mechanical plant.

Working within the Business Development team you will be responsible for the day to day checking and sign off of order forms.Liaising with sales representatives to support new orders; dealers to chase vehicle stock and quotes, as well as setting up new promotions and updating internal portals. Update and maintain information on a computer system and in archives.

Strong communication skills will ensure that the day to day operation of this team is smooth and efficient in order to achieve maximum output and potential.

Development of relationships with key stakeholders (funders, manufacturers and vehicle retailers).

The Procurement exec will work within the Business Development department and will be the 2nd face of the business for relationships with dealers and manufacturers.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Liaising with the sales team to resolve sales queries and provide support in the following areas: Competitors quotes & product advice as well as ADHOC problem solving.
  • Assist with the development of strategic supply partnerships for the business with a sustainable risk free network.
  • Assist with the negotiation of rates, discounts and lead times on manufacturer vehicles via the dealerships and manufacturers network ensuring that the best terms are secured.
  • Manage the SLA’s with vehicle retailers and manufacturers ensuring that they are met and achieved
  • Source vehicle stock from dealerships within the UK
  • Update company intranet daily with deals, information and special offers
  • Update Website photos and banners with new special offers
  • Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle product and service enquiries
  • Maintain dealer databases
  • Refresher training of internal new staff

  • Results driven and team player but able to work independently
  • Procurement/Purchasing experience from within the motor industry
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good organisational & administration skills and able to prioritise workload based on business critical needs
  • Reliable, resourceful, approachable and discreet
