Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner
Monday - Friday: 8.00AM - 4.30PM
Pay Rate: £13.00 PER HOUR

Day to Day Duties
As a Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner you will be:
- Working to production schedules
- Interpreting technical plans and diagrams
- Estimating the materials needed for a job and producing cutting lists
- Selecting wood that’s suitable for a particular job
- Measuring timber and marking it up ahead of cutting
- Cutting timber to required dimensions
- Programming computerised cutting equipment
- Using hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assembling timber structures in a workshop, such as window and door frames
- Conducting quality checks and reporting to senior staff.
- Taking customer orders and agreeing on the specifications
- Cutting and joining wood to make parts according to the plans
- Assembling cabinets and furniture from shaped components
- Making cabinetry and furniture pieces according to specifications, including hinges, locks and handles
Essential Skills
- Good coordination skills
- Excellent attention to details
- Ability to interpret plans and diagrams
- Good maths skills
- Confidence to use, repair and maintain machines and tools.
- Good with practical work and manual activities
- Strong mathematical skills to perform calculations and measurements
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to operate cutting and joining tools and machines
- Good knowledge of different surfaces and adhesives
- Focused on safe working practices
- Punctual

Desirable Experience
At least 1 year experience as the below is essential;
- Experience as a Cabinet builder
- Experience as a Bench Joiner
- Experience as a furniture assembler
What training is provided?
- Full training will be provided for this role.
