CAD Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced CAD Engineer to design bespoke new stage, seating, and other temporary structures, a big component of the role will be creating models to predict structural behaviour and environmental impact. This is a place where your skills contribute to creating impactful, technically challenging, and visually stunning projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Create structural models by using computer-aided design software to predict structural behaviours
- Design, detail and produce bills of materials for staging, grandstands and bespoke temporary structures
- Calculate loads and stresses on different parts of a structure
- Choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications
- Collaborate with clients’ technical teams and project managers
- Develop design ideas using CAD software
- Ensure all projects meet building codes
Person Specification
- Essential
- HND/HNC level or apprentice trained in an Engineering/Mechanical discipline
- Experienced at using structural calculation packages (Robot)
- Experience of steel construction and design
- Up to date with current Eurocode standards
- Experience in the production of construction drawings using 2D AutoCAD software
- Good knowledge and understanding of construction drawings. An understanding of manufacturing techniques and installation procedures
- Good understanding of structural systems and construction details

- BSc (Honours) Engineering
- Experience of the entertainment or scaffolding industry
- Experience of scheduling bills of materials
