SalarySupplying stages, grandstands, rigging services and many other event structures, this prestigious, exciting and expanding events organiser/supplier has an opportunity for CAD Engineer within the Design Department, reporting directly to the Design Director.
ROLE SUMMARY - Designing and detailing structures to withstand stresses and pressures imposed through environmental conditions and human use. Ensuring designs and structures remain stable and secure throughout use.
THE PACKAGE - £35,000 - £40,000 DOE, Free Parking, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension, Plus working with a fantastic team!
RESPONSIBILITIES • Create structural models by using computer-aided design software to predict structural behaviours • Design, detail and produce bills of materials for staging, grandstands and bespoke temporary structures • Calculate loads and stresses on different parts of a structure • Choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications • Collaborate with clients’ technical teams and project managers • Develop design ideas using CAD software • Ensure all projects meet building codes
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS - HND/HNC level or apprentice trained in an Engineering/Mechanical discipline essential BSc (Honours) Engineering desirable
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE • Experienced at using structural calculation packages (Robot) • Experience of steel construction and design • Up to date with current Eurocode standards • Experience in the production of construction drawings using 2D Autocad software • Good knowledge and understanding of construction drawings and an understanding of manufacturing techniques and installation procedures • Good understanding of structural systems and construction details • Computer literate e.g. M/S Office
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE • Production of construction drawings using 3D Autocad software • Entertainment or scaffolding industry • Scheduling bills of materials.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE • Robot or similar structural modelling and analysis • AutoCad 2D draughting • Excellent oral and written communication • Computer literacy (M/S Packages) • Ability to work under pressure • Initiative and proactive approach • Good attention to detail
