Automotive start-up / scale up company based in Warwick is seeking a new CAE Analyst - MBS.
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of robust, complete and timely virtual validation of the Digital Vehicle to support the Virtual Series. This person needs to have hands-on CAE pre, solve and post processing experience and will be the "go-to" person with regards to the simulated functional performance of the product attribute domains that you will be responsible for, chiefly across vehicle dynamics & mechanisms.
You will work within the CAE team based UK Office in Warwick and be required to visit European automotive test centres to support physical testing/correlation activities as needed by the programme.
You will work closely with Vehicle Integration and Commodity team colleagues in the maturation and iteration of such product attributes to agreed functional targets with a keen eye on correlation to real world performance, working from concept through to production release. As such, you will be a key member in the execution of the virtual DVP.
They're using MBS/MBD/MFBD CAE pre, solve and post processing software (Hexagon MSc Adams, etc.), Opensource CAE tools if applicable, Siemens Teamcenter PLM. Microsoft Office, Atlassian and other tools to keep work running smoothly, so you can expect to deal with things like MS Teams, JIRA tickets, Smartsheet, etc., on daily basis.
What will you be responsible for?
•Delivery of robust, complete and timely MBS/MBD/MFBD CAE simulation to support internal customers in the development of the vehicle.
•Support and alignment of MBS CAE activities to the agreed programme project plan (PPP), Virtual Series process and virtual/physical DVP.
•Support generation of CAE work scope, timing plans and budget derivation as required.
•Contribute to CAE software & infrastructure strategy.
To help achieve their goals, they need someone with:
•Vehicle dynamics and/or mechanisms specialism desirable with broad understanding of other domain fundamentals/CAE tools
•Ability to work from first principles to actively guide vehicle design
•Ability to think from a multi-disciplinary optimisation (MDO) and multi-objective optimisation (MOO) point of view
•Sound understanding of automotive CAE tools and methods
This person needs to
•an experienced user on MBS/MBD/MFBD CAE pre, solve and post processing CAE toolsets
•have attention to detail and diligent approach to information management
•have sound communication and presentation skills
•be highly motivated, proactive individual with outstanding drive and initiative.
•be an analytical individual able to work well in cross functional teams
Advantageous, but not essential:
•ability to lean on opensource CAE tools
•CAE scripting capability
•skilled in efficient DoE design and able to drive product attribute performance
•experience of working within the Automotive sector
