We’re looking for a manager to join our team full time!
Tobacco Factory Cafe Bar, located on Southville’s bustling North Street is a community hub for great food, drink, music and art. We’re a spacious venue (converted from an historic factory) with lots of seating and a stage/event space inside, as well as our Yard Bar terrace and garden outside. We serve a veggie/vegan menu that uses ingredients from our own farm in Backwell and other local suppliers, alongside craft beer + cider, wines, spirits and hot drinks.
We also run a popular Sunday Market, with local makers & producers alongside Bristol’s best street-food traders.

The role includes:
Shift Managing -
- Running shifts unsupervised
- Opening – set-up, allocating team roles
- Ordering from suppliers
- Ensuring smooth service – maintain standards, deal with issues/complaints and enquiries
- Liaising with kitchen staff, building manager, theatre, shop, farm and back office staff
- Dealing with/reporting technical issues in a timely manner
- Adhering to operating systems and procedures
- Helping to achieve targets – financial, stock, wage
- Assisting the rest of the management team
- Supporting staff (including training)
- Closing site in a safe, secure and timely manner
Also as Team Manager working closely with the GM -
- Weekly rota
- Team reviews
- Coordinate training - in house and external
- Track attendance, performance and capability in line with company policies
- Staff Inductions and Onboarding
- Managing Staff Leave Allowance and Requests
- Other personalised duties dependent on experience/interests

You should have:
- Experience in running a team
- Experience with performance, capability and attendance management
- Familiarity with rotacloud or similar rota tool
- Some experience in table service, cellar management and barista coffee
- A self motivator but also able to follow existing systems
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of different events coordination: music, buffets, weddings etc.
- Basic food hygiene
- Recognised barista training
