Calibration Service Engineer
VQ Life Sciences are recruiting for a Permanent Calibration Service Engineer based in Cambridge. Working for a global leader providing services to the Pharmaceutical industry.
The Role
To carry out day-to-day technical activities covering various Laboratory & Process Equipment services and calibrations at client sites. To manage their jobs and provide supervisory expertise on site as required.
Main Areas of Responsibility
To support and assist in the daily activities of the company
Maintenance, calibration, fault finding and repair of various types of laboratory & Process equipment.
To provide technical support commensurate with experience and qualifications
To provide documentation as defined in the Companies Quality Procedure and the customer procedures & paperwork.
To convey a professional, positive and customer driven image of the business.
To act as the interface between client and the business.
To develop and maintain an effective knowledge of current working regulations.
Core Competencies
Minimum ONC/HNC or equivalent experience in Electrical / Instrumentation qualifications.
A very high skill level for practical fault finding and repair on a varied range of non-specialised laboratory equipment e.g centrifuges, incubators, fridges, balances, fume hoods, microscopes, and knowledge of pharmaceutical process equipment.
Electrically competent. (240Vac).
Hold a current driving license.
Have demonstrable supervisory skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
PC literate on Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team.
An open-minded approach to new initiatives
Ability to manage and plan own workload.
Complete all paperwork accurately
Customer Focused
Experience of working within GMP environment is essential.
Some areas of work may be compliant or hazardous and all precautions and rules regarding working in these areas should be observed.
Reporting
This position reports directly to their designated Line Manager.
