We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading provider of building services solutions, committed to delivering exceptional maintenance services to their clients. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, they pride themselves on maintaining high standards of excellence in the management of commercial properties.
The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance operations of two prominent buildings, ensuring the efficient functioning of all mechanical systems and equipment. This is a client-facing role that requires strong communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain all mechanical systems and equipment within the designated buildings, including HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, and controls.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on various plant equipment commonly found in commercial office spaces.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot any mechanical issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs or installations, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and equipment documentation, utilising maintenance management software.
- Communicate regularly with the client to provide updates on maintenance activities and address any concerns, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and industry standards, implementing necessary precautions to safeguard occupants and property.
- Supervise and mentor junior maintenance staff as needed, providing guidance and support to promote professional development.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance, with a focus on mechanical systems.
- Proven experience in a client-facing role, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems commonly found in commercial buildings.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
- Ideally, a minimum of Level 3 qualification in plumbing or equivalent, or an AC qualification, demonstrating expertise in relevant areas.
