Job description

A night shift Call Handler is required to dispatch and allocate routes to drivers for a unique service provider of transport solutions in Shrewsbury. You will manage calls to and from drivers to ensure fulfilment of bookings, best routes and target management is achieved throughout the shift. The role is shift based on 12 hour night shifts 5 nights a week.

Duties include:

  • Allocate best route and times to drivers to ensure fulfilment of customer bookings.
  • Assist with customer bookings for transport requirements.
  • Ensure all the processes of bookings are recorded accurately and immediately each time
  • Support, lead and manage the drivers to ensure best partnership and outcomes every time.
  • Advise customers on timings, process and handle any app queries
  • Process payments via card, cash or app
  • Handle all calls from start to finish taking control and ensuring quality throughout
  • Assist colleagues with pricing or passenger calls
  • Ensure the bespoke systems are managed to real time and highly accurate, checking for problematic peaks and driver demand

You will

  • Have a clear and confident communicator with all people
  • Have experience in allocating drivers to routes and work, or allocating shifts to workers perhaps in care industry or similar
  • Excellent geographical knowledge, whilst training and set areas will be given, you will need to demonstrate knowledge and planning skills.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple screens and systems to look at the best solution
  • Have a polite and persuasive manner and be a great team player
  • Be highly organised in your approach to work.
  • Be great at data, numeracy and be confident in computer systems.

The details:

  • This is a zero hours contract, offering 12 hour shifts, 5 nights a week, of up to 48 hours. Rotas are given well in advance.
  • This is weekly pay, at a rate of GBP11.35 per hour
