Location: The position is remote, however, the Head of Campaigns and Campaigns Officer posts do require being based in London. This is to facilitate attending and organising London-based events. The role will also require occasional travel to enable face to face meetings
Salary: £33,650 pa (pro rata)

Introduction
Since 2005 Keep Our NHS Public has campaigned to save the NHS from privatisation, de-funding and damaging restructuring of services. In that time we have saved numerous hospitals and NHS services from closure, and positively impacted the discourse around the NHS through our press work and much more. With our sister organisation Health Campaigns Together we’ve organised some of the largest demonstrations and political events in the country fighting for our NHS.
The Campaigns Officer plays a significant role as part of a team of professional activists in our work to protect and restore the NHS to a universal, free-at-the-point-of-use, publicly owned and publicly run service. The role is primarily designed to support the Head of Campaigns with ongoing campaigns and to support the development of new campaign initiatives.
The Campaigns Officer will be responsible to the Head of Campaigns and will work with the KONP Executive Committee (EC), Steering Group (SG), the two co-chairs, and the national team to support our campaigning activity, with a focus on digital communications and on building and maintaining relationships with local groups.

A focus on recruitment, and fundraising
Supporting and maintaining close liaison with the KONP groups around the country as well as helping set up new groups
Helping build stronger links with unions, campaigns, and political parties
Working towards increasing diversity in KONP
Commissioning, creating and sharing relevant propaganda, promotional material and content
Key responsibilities
Working with the team to increase our membership, expand our supporter and mailing lists and increase our reach
Working alongside the Head of Campaigns to play a leading role in content creation such as making video or audio content (including clipping interviews and subtitling) and graphics for social media
Managing our social media output and increasing our reach
Supporting the Head of Campaigns in tasks related to events planning and organising meetings, conferences, protests and so on. For example; communicating with speakers for events, managing bookings with venues, supporting in person and online events by taking responsibility for setting up and managing Zoom meetings, Eventbrite pages, Facebook Events etc.
Supporting the Head of Campaigns in producing campaign materials such as posters and leaflets
Work with local KONP groups both to involve them in national initiatives and to provide support for their own local work
Gathering information from local groups and disseminating good campaigning ideas and useful knowledge through regular communication and meetings
Support putting together regular newsletters for our members and supporters alongside the Head of Campaigns and the National Administrator
Where necessary take on minor administrative tasks on the CRM platform designed to optimise and expand our digital campaigning alongside our National Administrator
Depending on knowledge of a given subject, you may also be asked to speak at meetings or to the media
Assist the team in covering other tasks when requested by Head of Campaigns
About you (skills and experience)
Essential
You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively by email, on video call, phone and in person including networking at public meetings, rallies, protests and picket lines etc.
Commitment to the core values of KONP. You must understand and agree with the essential aims and bring an understanding of these aims to the role
Understanding the importance of working with other campaigns and alongside trade unions and elected representatives where appropriate
Team working skills are essential, with a strong and proven capacity to build and maintain good working relationships with others – either with allied organisations or within KONP
Good IT skills including Word and Google Sheets
Familiarity with and ability to use social media platforms
Ability to learn to use the platforms including WordPress, WooCommerce, CiviCRM, MailChimp, Zoom and Eventbrite
Desirable
Significant campaigning experience in progressive social issues is preferable
Good multi-media campaigning experience
Experience using social media platforms in either a formal or informal campaigning capacity
Experience of working with other campaigns and alongside trade unions and elected representatives
Some prior experience using the platforms we use including WordPress, WooCommerce, CiviCRM, MailChimp, Zoom and Eventbrite is desirable but not essential
As the role develops it may evolve to include other more in-depth IT skills such as Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, Adobe Premier, iMovie or Final Cut Pro X, for graphic design and basic video or audio editing tasks, such as subtitling
