Weston Park Care Home is a purpose-built home set in its own grounds with landscaped gardens and situated in a quiet residential area set back from the road. Macclesfield town centre is a short drive or bus ride away and the home is easily accessible from the Leek and Congleton roads.

The home provides a high standard of care in a comfortable environment. We cater for the needs of people requiring General Nursing care as well as for those living with Dementia. We promote resident and family involvement and feel privileged to be able offer a service to people in their time of need.

We have recently re-opened our 30 bedded service following refurbishment and therefore we require Care Assistants to join our existing team.

Role of a Care Assistant:

To support the delivery of care for residents at the home; ensuring that all care needs are met in a timely manner with due regard to privacy, dignity, respect and the rights of each resident in the home.

Responsibilities of a Care Assistant:

To provide personal care and support to residents using a person centered approach under the direction of senior staff within the home. The role includes getting to know each resident and understanding their individual needs.

Promoting independence is a key aspect of this role as it helps to maintain residents' skills and abilities in all aspects of daily living. As a Care Assistant, you will assist residents to:

• get up in the morning and retire to bed at night.
• wash, bathe and shower.
• dress and undress.
• look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails.
• manage their continence and personal hygiene needs.
• meet their nutritional needs and cultural requirements.
• maintain their safety, and to lead a healthy life in a pleasant environment.
• maintain contact with their family and friends.
• access their local community.

In addition, you will be required to:

• ensure the facility and all furnishings are clean and tidy at all times.
• carry out cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
• use manual handling equipment safely and use correct techniques.
• maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with residents, their family and friends, professional visitors and colleagues.
