Harrogate Neighbours is an award-winning organisation with a recent rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission.
Our mission is to offer our community the time, care, warmth, compassion, and support necessary to make Harrogate Neighbours a true ‘homely’ experience for our clients, and an amazing place to work.
We help our Clients to live independently, to keep their dignity, and increase their quality of life.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Care Assistant at our extra-care assisted living scheme, you will provide vital care and support services to our elderly residents. You will represent our growing care team to support our residents to live independently in their own homes and brighten their days. A typical day in the life of a Care Assistant includes providing personal care, medication management, light domestic duties, meal preparation, shopping, and most importantly, companionship.
You will be here during the day, working on a rota basis from 1400/1600-2200. We ask candidates to work every other weekend (unless you’re only looking for weekend work) to fulfil the needs of our clients and residents, as well as to give our staff a well-earned weekend off for a better work-life balance.
What we need you to bring to our community:
You don’t need to have previous experience or qualifications in care, what is truly important is that you are passionate, compassionate, and motivated and want to make a real difference to people living within your community.
If you have these qualities, we can help you with the rest. We will provide comprehensive training and shadowing, working to nurture your skills to prepare you for this brilliant opportunity.
What we are looking for:
- Good people skills with a caring and compassionate nature
- A positive, professional, and proactive approach
- A real team player
- To be aligned to our Visons and Values.
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- 1 year of care experience desired, but not essential – we provide full in-house training
What we will offer you in return:
We are committed to supporting your career development, whether you are beginning your career in care, or wanting to progress further into specialist areas of care or leadership. Harrogate Neighbours will provide you with a great benefits package which includes:
- Fully paid induction and shadowing period
- Permanent salaried employment
