Care Support Worker

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team.

3 full time or part time permanent position required, previous experience working with people with LD is essential.

Candidates should able to demonstrate that they have:

• are reliable, responsible and can remain professional and calm in all situations
• are a good team worker and good decision maker and have empathy with vulnerable people

REPORTING TO:  Care Coordinator, Deputy Care Manager and Registered Manager

JOB HOURS - shifts based (including weekends)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - not exhaustive

• Support provision and Promotion of Quality Support
• Reviewing progress with service user (SU) in conjunction with the principals of RVH
• Act in accordance with Ridge View Homes (RVH) policies and procedures also in line with all legal requirements; standards of support that comply to the values of RVH
• To provide personal support and support to SU with a wide range of needs, illnesses and disabilities
• To undertake the tasks detailed in the SU support plan (care plans, activity plans etc..) using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive way
• To encourage the independence and motivation of the SU and not foster dependent behaviour
• To give personal care and support with everyday tasks
• Accompany the SU on trips into the community
• To assist the SU to manage their personal affairs
• To ensure as safe as possible the living environment for the SU, whilst respecting the SU’s choice and rights
• To maintain detailed and accurate records on the Support Management System in respect of Support in a timely manner and medication support given and tasks undertaken accordingly
• To ensure the correct use of RVH GDPR Controlled Drug Book, GDPR Visitors Book to protect SU’s personal data
• To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to the line Manager
• To seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery
• To attend and participate in regular team meetings, any other relevant meetings, in-house or external trainings
• To observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable Support to promote health and safety of self and others and raise any concerns to the Senior Management team
