As a Care Worker, you will be providing personal care and support for people whom the agency has agreed to provide a service, in line with a person-centered care plan while respecting clients dignity, individuality, culture and social background and also promoting independence. This may be in a care home or private residential home.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities our staff are trained to carry out are:
•Provide personal care and support to clients with a wide range of needs, illnesses and disabilities
•Undertake the tasks detailed in the Client’s care and support plan using a person-centred approach
•Encourage the independence and motivation of the Client
•Provide input into the care and support plans of Clients by regularly feeding back to the Field Care Supervisor
•Assist Clients with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene through personal care
•Assist Clients with their medication as detailed in their care paln
•Prepare food and drink for the Client, being aware of the client’s choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements
•Provide light general household domestic duties
•Maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with Clients
•Provide companionship to the Client, actively talking and listening to them about their interests
•Help the Client to maintain contact with their family and friends
Keeping and filing clear records, keeping to regulations, following the agreed way of working in alignment with the company policies and procedures
Help service users overcome any mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including helping in the use and care of aids and personal equipment
•Accompany the Client on trips into the community
•Assist the Client to manage their personal affairs
To work with other staff employed by the agency and where involved with staff from other services in order to provide an integrated approach to people‘s health and care.
Respecting confidentiality by not discussing any personal information on individuals or staff with unauthorised people, and storing records securely
