Carer Support Worker

Carers Trust Tyne and Wear is a local charity providing Home and Community based support to unpaid Carers within the Gateshead Area. We currently have vacancies for both Full-time and Part-time Care Support Workers.

Unlike many care jobs, we are not just in and out of client homes rushing to the next appointment. Most of our appointments last up to 4 hours.

Your Role would be to provide practical and personal support to people with care needs, in their own homes and the local community.

Main Duties include;

• Supporting the clients' health and wellbeing
• Assisting with personal hygiene.
• Mobility assistance.
• Specialised tasks after appropriate training e.g. peg feeding, administration of medication.
• To support the person with individual care needs, stated on their care plan.
• Maintain accurate records and update Care Co-ordinators where necessary.
• Must adhere to confidentiality, data protection and all Carers Trust Tyne and Wear policy and procedures.
• Applicants must be willing to undergo screening appropriate to the post including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
