Job Title: Carrier Relations Manager with Project Management (TMS Industry) office based 2/3 days per week negotiable

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Carrier Relations Manager with strong project management abilities to join our dynamic team at a Transportation Management System (TMS) company. The Carrier Relations Manager will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining relationships with carriers, optimising carrier performance, and overseeing the successful execution of carrier-related projects within the TMS industry. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of transportation logistics, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in project management.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the TMS industry.

Collaborate with carriers to negotiate contracts, terms, and service level agreements (SLAs) for transportation services.

Monitor carrier performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance carrier performance within the TMS ecosystem.

Coordinate and oversee carrier-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations, to align carrier-related activities with company objectives.

Conduct regular performance reviews with carriers, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Manage carrier escalations and serve as the primary point of contact for carrier-related inquiries and issues.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to carrier relations and transportation logistics.

Collaborate with the sales team to support carrier-related sales efforts, including presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations.

Prepare and present regular reports on carrier performance, project status, and key metrics to management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

5 years + experience within a relative field

Proven experience in carrier relations management within the transportation and logistics industry, preferably within a TMS environment.

Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects from start to finish.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

In-depth knowledge of transportation logistics, including carrier operations, network infrastructure, routing, pricing, and billing.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Willingness to travel as required to meet with carriers and attend industry conferences and events.

Duties:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
- Understand client needs and objectives, and provide technical solutions and recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and delivery of products or services
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to review project progress, address concerns, and provide updates
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services to clients
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients as needed
- Monitor client satisfaction levels and proactively address any issues or concerns
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to provide informed guidance to clients

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably as a Technical Account Manager or similar position
- Strong technical background with knowledge of software development, IT infrastructure, or related fields
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
