Cash Assistant

The role

As a Cash Assistant you will ensure timely and accurate cash allocation and management of customer allocation queries to completion, in compliance with Business Stream’s financial processes and controls.

You will be responsible for ensuring that Business Stream’s customer payments, queries & records are allocated in an accurate and timely manner and all relevant financial transactions are recorded efficiently and accurately, which includes proactively contacting internal and external customers via telephone and/or email to allow prompt resolution of payment allocation queries in order to meet the agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Your responsibilities will include processing customer cheques, which will entail contacting customers by phone and/or email to address any discrepancies and obtaining remittance advices to ensure the accurate resolution of payments in suspense.

You will be in charge of managing Service Orders by conducting a thorough investigation into any customer queries to ensure prompt resolution by providing best-in-class customer service, taking ownership of internal and external customer issues, and liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure complete issue resolution.

The reward

Base salary £24,150 once you become competent in your role. This is usually within 6 - 9 months.

Location: Edinburgh Park, EH12 9SE - part and full time opportunities available. Office based.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm - no evenings or weekends giving a great work life balance.

About you

You will have proven ability to work to a high degree of accuracy in a high volume, time-pressured workplace, meeting multiple deadlines through good planning, prioritising, and organisational skills. You will be self-motivated and driven to overcome obstacles in order to give great customer service to all stakeholders. You will display good problem-solving abilities to ensure that you take ownership of issues and resolve them satisfactorily and complete root cause analysis.

A good working knowledge of MS Office and Excel as well as strong numerical skills will be essential to this role.
