Casual Support Workers
Scale 4 (£24,294 - £25,979 pro rata) - £13.47 per hour + £1.63 Holiday pay
Casual - a range of flexible hours, including weekend work

Your Role
Can you make a positive contribution by supporting people with learning disabilities in their own homes to live independent and meaningful lives? We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people to join the Casual Support Worker Team.
About You
You must have the availability and flexibility to work irregular hours such as early mornings, evenings and weekends. You will need experience of working with people with disabilities this can be in either a paid, voluntary or personal capacity. There are a number of properties across the borough which at times may involve lone working. You will be expected to work across all the locations within the Opportunities Together service; this may involve transferring locations at short notice. Although this is a casual role you must be punctual and reliable.

Job Profile


The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including completing a Stockport Council DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) application, the cost of which is £55.00, in addition you will need to be registered with the online DBS Update Service, this is an annual subscription at a charge of £13 payable by successful candidates.

The update service enables your employer or future employers to carry out an online Status check of your DBS certificate. This removes the requirement to have and pay for another full DBS check, and is a condition of working as a casual in this role. You must sign up with the Update Service within 30 days of receiving your DBS clearance being issued.

Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not qualify.
