We have an essential role within the Global Procurement team that sets the standard for Procurement Excellence and fosters a high-performance culture. We seek a candidate with an engineering background to bring a strategic and innovative Category Management approach as the client continues its transformation journey.
How you will contribute:
• Manage the global Capital equipment category with expenditures up to $95 million.
• Develop long-term value generation and risk mitigation strategies based on the business’ capital equipment plans.
• Execute projects and programs to actualize cost savings aligned with delivery objectives.
• Ensure compliance with sourcing strategies in each Business Unit and proactively manage vendor performance.
• Utilize supplier innovation to differentiate and drive competitive advantage, contributing to revenue generation.
• Contribute to the Procurement strategy by managing a long-term pipeline of value delivery projects.
• Collaborate with and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure strategies align with corporate objectives.
• Potentially supervise Strategic Buyer(s) to support the program.
The Ideal Candidate:
• An engineering background with experience in purchasing plant-related equipment, machinery, and MRO.
• Full or part qualified MCIPS is advantageous.
• Experience in implementing "best practice category management" in a dynamic industry.
• Experience in developing and deploying national category/procurement strategies cross-functionally at regional/business unit level.
• Strong track record of category/procurement efficiency improvements across processes, compliance, transactions, and KPIs.
• Commercially astute with expertise in assessing external supply markets and translating opportunities into long-term strategies.
• Ability to lead, persuade, and influence internal and external partners through a period of change.
• Commercial experience in advanced negotiations with senior stakeholders to deliver value objectives.
• Innovative, creative, and strategic thinker.
• Demonstrable experience in multi-site procurement stakeholder engagement and communication.
Working Conditions: • Hybrid working with occasional plant visits (to be discussed with hiring manager)
