Category Manager - Folding Cartons

We’re working with a pioneering digital print business, renowned for their innovation and commitment to excellence. As they continue to expand, they are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to oversee their Folding Carton division.
The Role
This person will be responsible for managing and growing the Folding Carton Division including pre- and post-sales support and strategic analysis. The successful hire will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of offset print processes, market trends, and the ability to drive growth and efficiencies within their department.
- Division Oversight: Lead and manage the Folding Carton Division, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and objectives.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes within the folding carton segment.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best quality materials at competitive prices.
- Sales & Marketing: Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth and market share in the folding carton category.
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with the area sales managers to understand customer needs, provide technical support, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics for the division.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
The Person
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, ideally gained at an offset press manufacturer/provider
- Vast knowledge of the Folding Cartons industry, including production processes, with an industry relevant network.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Print Technology, or a related field
- In-depth understanding of the printing technology market, materials, and its consumers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and financial reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to drive innovation and business growth.
