Due to increased demand we are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join our team of kitchen staff here at Warblington School. You will be self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision and rely upon good interpersonal and communication skills to be part of our successful kitchen team who provide an essential service to the School.
In this role you will have exposure to our dining area and ‘snack shack’, so it is important that you can adapt to working both alone and within a team, be flexible to cover all areas front and back of house, and communicate effectively with our pupils and staff. Ideally you will have proven experience as a Catering Assistant in a fast- paced environment.
Your responsibilities will include;
* Providing excellent customer service
* Washing up of utensils and equipment, including use of the dishwasher where appropriate
* Assisting with preparation and service of food and beverages
* Operational till duties (biometric fingerprint payments)
* Helping with deliveries and storage of stock, stock control and stock taking
* Keeping high standard of cleanliness both front and back of the house (light and deep clean)
* Ensuring kitchen hygiene and food safety standards are maintained to the highest level
* Adhering to Environmental Health and statutory Fire and H&S Regulations as well as COSHH training
* Assisting in all other duties as and when required
The ideal candidate will;
* Need to have good communication skills
* Need to be flexible and have a positive attitude towards work
* Have excellent customer service skills
* Have experience working in a similar fast-paced catering environment
