The Role
Are you looking to work as part of a highly collaborative focused catering and hospitality team, providing hospitality throughout the day and early evenings, for our students, staff, stakeholders and visitors?

The In house catering team and department are vital in contributing towards the college achieve in its aim of students being able to achieve their full potential by providing catering facilities to them while they are on their journey of learning.
As part of the in-house catering team you can join a college department that has grown from small beginnings over the last couple of years to provide fresh and healthy prepared foods, meals and drinks throughout each day from its different outlets across the City College estate.
Being a visible service for students from dawn to dusk, we strive to provide meals, refreshments and good service, standards and value to our students while they study here at City College Plymouth, so your ability to understand their needs in a catering and customer service role will be invaluable for our students to reach their goals and potential.
What Will You Bring to the Role
- Creating – Being imaginative and open to different points of view in the aspect of changing food trends, dietary and religious requirements. Taking Inspiration from far afield in the catering industry and beyond the role and turning that into something real, in which will bring out your imaginative side of food presentation
- Adapting – The In-house catering department experiences lots of challenges and changes of direction and at last minute sometimes, due to the demands of the industry and clients requirements. We are looking for someone who is flexible and that can also adapt to change short term and long term while staying calm in situations that may happen at short notice.
- Coping – With high volume catering in a fast paced environment, coping well in pressurized, challenging situations will require you to be focused and composed and be able to cope and adapt at all times even at stressful times.
- Delivering – Working day to day in the In house catering department requires the candidate to be proactive, with a sense of taking ownership in the area / unit they are working in. We require the person to take the right steps to progress and complete tasks delegated out to them and delivering the results with confidence and self-assurance. They will be conscientious and at the same time expected to meet the customers’ expectations within the busy catering department.
