Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 £22,383 pro rata per annum plus enhancements

We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join our friendly team here at the Belfast Hospice. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in the daily provision of all catering services at the Hospice, working to ensure that we maintain a consistently high-quality food service to our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.

What we are looking for :
- A passion for food and hospitality, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is a plus, but not required – we're willing to train the right candidate!
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate event schedules.
You will be a vital member of the catering team, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen, you will undertake general kitchen duties which include cleaning, basic food preparation with the ability to cook simple meals under direction of the Head Chef. You will need to be flexible, well presented and highly organised.
You must be able to demonstrate strong practical skills, be well organised, pro-active and a good team player. Excellent communication and customer service skills are key to this role, along with the ability to self-motivate and manage your time effectively.
The right candidate will be flexible in their approach to work, a team player and able to deliver high quality work in a dynamic environment. Our catering service runs 7 days a week 12 hour a day.
Kitchen experience is required. A basic food hygiene qualification is desirable but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.
