AddressRobinwood Activity Centres has an exciting job opening for a Catering Manager at our Barhaugh Hall centre near Alston starting in April 2024.
Salary - £36,951 per annum (increasing with time served)
Robinwood is an award-winning provider of residential outdoor activity courses for primary schools.
As our Catering Manager, you will enjoy developing and getting the most out of your team of Lead Cooks and other staff who work in the kitchen. You will strive to deliver excellent customer service to the children and teachers who visit the activity centre, providing them with nutritious and filling meals and snacks.
As the Catering Manager, you will understand the importance of safe, special diet provisions for all our customers and staff who require them. You are willing to liaise with teachers, Robinwood staff and parents to provide the expected high standards of care.
You'll be required to train and assess your team using Robinwood's training and assessment framework and offer them ongoing support and development through job chats and meetings.
The Catering Manager oversees the daily operation of the kitchen and dining rooms. The role includes some cooking shifts alongside the management of Barhauah Hall's catering provision.
Aspects of the job include:
- Ordering all stock whilst keeping within set catering budgets
- To train, support and develop line team
- To communicate with customers and exceed their expectations
- To work with the centre staff to provide excellent Robinwood courses
- Ensure all aspects of catering are in keeping with current Health and safety regulations
- To set and ensure high standards of cleanliness
- To be involved in the cooking of high-quality meals

Shift details would be agreed on appointment, but would generally vary to some degree throughout employment: Early shifts typically run from 6.00am to 3.00pm Late shifts typically run from 11.00am to 8.00pm. These shifts will be mostly term time and will generally be Monday-Friday with weekends off.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 13th March with a selection day on Monday 18thth March.
Preferred start date Monday 8th April 2024, but a later start date can be accommodated if required.
