Key Responsibilities
- Organisation of kitchen and relevant duties and, ensuring best utilisation of all resources to provide effective service delivery to client
- Ensure preparation and cooking of foods in compliance with set cooking methods, recipes and menus
- Responsible for ensuring all staff meet the standards of kitchen hygiene required and observe all Health and Safety Regulations and maintain highest standard of personal hygiene
- Responsible for stock security, ordering and checking the correct receipt of goods at time of delivery
- Maintain cost control to achieve the set financial targets for the Kitchen
- Responsible for training, welfare and discipline of kitchen staff
- Supervise function work when required. (You may be required to work some evenings or weekends)
- Responsible for ensuring that all food delivered is handled and stored correctly
- Responsible for the swift, pleasant service to customers, ensuring that the service is delivered without disruption to the daily unit function
- Responsible for the implementation of cleaning schedules and ensuring the required standards of cleanliness are maintained
- Responsible for ensuring that all staff wear the uniform provided in the correct manner and that all staff arrive on duty at all times properly attired. In addition, that staff maintain their uniform in a clean and good condition
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- City & Guilds 706 1-2 is a preferred minimum qualification
- Previous experience of managing a unit in a similar industry
- Basic cooking experience, demonstrate ability to produce quality food within budget
- Ability to prioritise and delegate duties
- Able to communicate with staff, clients and managers
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- All Posts are subject to either a standard or enhanced CRB check according to contract
