Catering Supervisor

Sunderland City Council are looking to recruit a Relief Catering Supervisor to work in the school meals service based at Gilbert Ward Academy in Blyth. This is a new special free school for children aged 11-16 years with social, emotional and mental health needs and autism .

We are looking for experienced chefs/cooks/assistant cooks who are looking for the next step into managing a school kitchen . This is a permanent role with a guaranteed minimum number of contracted hours, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and opportunities for personal development and progression within the service.andnbsp;andnbsp;
You will therefore need to have had previous experience working in a cooking capacity (eg chef, cook) and have a cooking qualification (Candamp;G 7061/2 / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
It is a hands-on role and you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of 2 main course meals as well as sandwiches/jacket potatoes, salads and desserts to pupils and school staff (daily meal numbers likely to range from 40 - 80/ day). Youandrsquo;ll be responsible for supervising a member of staff within the kitchen, overseeing all day to day kitchen and service matters as well as administration/paperwork duties such as food ordering, stock taking, completing wage returns etc.andnbsp;andnbsp;
