Avencia Consulting are recruiting on behalf of a leading Specialty & Bespoke Insurer in the City, who are looking to hire a Ceded Reinsurance Programme Coordinator to join.
The Company currently writes lines of business including; specialty insurance: aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, terror & political violence, contingency and other specialty lines; reinsurance: property reinsurance, property retrocession, specialty reinsurance, whole account/multi-class and bespoke.
The role
This position is a collaborative role working closely with the Head of Underwriting Governance to define and implement the reinsurance strategy and support with the wider reinsurance lifecycle.
Key accountabilities
- Assistance and monitoring of Ceded Reinsurance projects
- Liaising with the Ceded Reinsurance, Underwriting Governance and Project Management teams as needed
- Supporting the Head of Underwriting Governance in taking ownership of our end-to-end underwriting business processes, and recommend improvements including but not limited to process improvements, data management, error identification, quality control etc.
- Proactively identify better ways of working and opportunities for automation
- Work with business leads to shape projects including defining scope, benefits, and objectives, and establishing key performance indicators.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular status meetings and communication channels to ensure transparency and alignment.
Skills & experience
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes and underwriting practices
- Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and externally across the Company.
- Demonstrated ability to master new concepts quickly and take initiative with own personal development.
- Must be able to self-lead and work effectively both independently and with teams.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience of working in fast paced environments with the ability to problem solve and react quickly to changing priorities.
- Experience formulating and assigning actions, taking notes, and providing summaries of workshop/meeting outcomes.
- Experiencing tracking project plans, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of presenting updates and findings to senior management and other committees as required.
