- Manage the Underwriting Operations, Business Operations and 3rd Party Governance teams ensuring continuous improvement of operational activities across the business whilst meeting all deliverables.
- Lead the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders to provide oversight support, ensure SLAs are constantly met, assist with reporting requirements and be key point of contact for key stakeholders.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure central operational services meet the standards required, are effective and efficient, and develop the function to continually meet the requirements of the business.
- Be responsible for Lloyd’s and Company markets Terrorism and Part VII regulatory returns ensuring submission data is complete and accurate.
- Support delivery of operational resilience and provide support in outsourcing and third party management.
- Demonstrate, and drive forward, operational excellence across the business through business-wide initiatives and projects.
- Lead the period close process working closely with Underwriting, IT, Claims and Finance teams to ensure all business is entered in to Eclipse, unmatched closings addressed, etc. in order to close the month.
- Lead the coordination and update of all operational guidelines and manuals, liaising closely with all key stakeholders. Provide oversight of business-wide policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the operations management team to deliver operational excellence across Starr.
- Work with the Starr Europe management team with respect to operational matters and provide operational support across all European offices.
- Assist in the management of outsourced relationships, such as Xchanging Insurance Services (XIS), for the processing of insurance data messages. This will include liaising with XIS and becoming the key contact point for underwriting teams to address queries and issues with processing.
- Lead, and assist, with London Market developments including the tracking, and submission, of PPL data, Whitespace, and Lloyd’s Blueprint II workstreams.
- Lead system implementations/upgrades and change projects across the London & European business including review, design and implementation.
- Develop, and maintain, operational controls and reports across all offices to ensure that SLA and KPIs are constantly met across the business and appropriate feedback/escalations are communicated.
- Lead system training by identifying and training Company trainers and deliver the training including but, not limited to, updating and distributing user manuals.
- Support the Chief Operating Officer with Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and relevant best practices, coordinating the Everbridge communication to the Company and updating Everbridge for new joiners.
- Responsible for reviewing and analysing Management Information (MI) for the Operations function ensuring appropriate stakeholder reporting and corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist IT with Underwriting Applications (Eclipse, Salesforce, etc.) and change requests from the business.
- Be responsible for the management, training and development of direct reports.
- Be part of internal groups and committees and address operational concerns and assist with initiatives.
- Assist with ad-hoc operational matters for internal and external stakeholders.
