Ceremonies Assistant

Hours: as required/available (often at weekends during the spring and summer period)
Location: Various including Weston Park, Ecclesall Woods and the Botanical Gardens
Grade 3 - £ 12.18/hour (enhancements are paid for weekend work and antisocial hours) – this is equivalent to a salary of £23,500/year.
Contract Type: Casual.

We are currently recruiting for Ceremonies Assistants, to support the delivery of ceremonies currently at Sheffield’s beautiful Botanical Gardens, Weston Park and Ecclesall Woods.
Ensuring the services, we provide for couples who have chosen a Parks and Countryside venue as the location for their special day, are as high quality, professional and effective as possible, is a key focus of this role.
Duties will include ensuring the smooth, effective running of ceremonies, ensuring excellent customer care and being the key point of contact during the events. This could include; supervising the use of any pavilion or building, including implementing security arrangements, consulting and liaising with key stakeholders on the day and assisting in the co-ordination of the provision of any resources and equipment required at each event/ceremony also ensuring venue re-instatement following each event/ceremony.
The post will require regular weekend work due to the nature of the service, particularly during Spring and Summer months although not exclusively.
To carry out this role, you will have excellent people skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced event setting. You will need to be an excellent communicator, have good organisation skills and the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
This role sits within the Parks and Countryside Service so joins a progressive and dedicated Team. Making our services more efficient and effective and reducing our expenditure through increased income opportunities will be critical over the coming years, making the contribution from this role key for the service and the users of our green spaces.
