A Vacancy at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate would be expected to be involved with the running of the pIOTA research project at Liverpool Women’s NHSFT. This research project has been created by Leuven and Imperial, and builds on known research for ovarian masses, but focused on pregnancy. Through this post, the candidate would both be expected to enhance their gynaecological scanning skills, as well as be principal investigator for LWH for the pIOTA study.
The successful candidate should be a well-motivated doctor with experience of UK Obstetrics and gynaecology practice who wants to develop their gynaecological ultrasound skills, leadership and management skills. Evidence of a commitment to ultrasound and research is an advantage, although any form of service development will be seen as a positive sign.
The candidate would be expected to work at ST4+ level (2 in 20 rota) either on Tier 2 (ST3-5) or Tier 3 (ST6-7+). The candidate would be provided with a template timetable. This can include sessions in general gynaecology and antenatal clinics, theatre sessions, as well as delivery suite and acute gynaecology. The following is a provisional time table.
Depending on the successful candidate’s training needs and existing skill set there may be an opportunity to complete or register for Special Interest Training Modules subject to negotiation, the candidate’s existing skill set and School approval.
Educational supervision will be provided with regular meetings (based on the RCOG training format) to provide support and feedback. Progression would be tailored on an individual basis and the candidate would be expected to fully participate in the annual appraisal process. We will encourage the successful candidate to formulate a SMART long term plan for their professional development and will endeavour to support them in achieving the required competencies.
