Role overview:
The mission of the Engineer Manager is to Lead Engineering for the successful introduction of new projects, coordinating internal engineering with the TCS Engineering Team, TCS manufacturing plant and 1st tier or OEM customer, Support Program Manager in ensuring all required engineering documents are on time and Support in continuous improvement and development of TCS interior products
This job is based in LEAR Coventry, UK.
Main Responsibilities:
- The contact to the engineering teams of our customers (Key-Contact).
- A complete description and full understanding of all customer needs on the product.
- The engineering activities during all project phases.
- The integration of the product into the customer environment.
- Leadership for the whole product, manage project design engineer.
- Establish and grow engineering contacts with customers.
- Benchmark current products of customers, including gap analysis of KA designs.
- Identify, clarify and expand for all customer needs (gap analysis).
- Discuss and describe customer strategies for future developments.
- Describe customer demands in RVS sheets, benchmark KA products against demands and share information with Functional Teams.
- Share summary of needs with FT’s as input for advanced development projects and follow up advanced developments closing needs (gaps).
- Create and supervise engineering budgets for development projects
- Create regular headcount planning for current and upcoming projects
- Guide a team of project and lead engineers with including goal settings and reviews
Key skills and Qualifications
- Master / bachelor degree in Engineering / Electronic or similar.
- Experience of working within the Automotive Industry either with an OEM or 1st and 2nd tier supplier
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Exposure to Target driven environment
- Analytical approach
- Communication Skills
- Problem Solving
