Are you passionate about professionalism, committed to excellent governance and the role housing can play in the future of our communities?   If so, we want to hear from you.

CIH’s purpose is simple. We want to provide everyone involved in housing with the skills, support and knowledge they need to be the best they can. We also want to shape housing and community agendas. To achieve these things, we want to ensure that CIH is an accountable, strategic, modern, inclusive and dynamic organisation that is both prepared to face future challenges and fit for purpose.

Overall direction and leadership is set by the Governing Board and CIH is now seeking an exceptional Chair who can lead the organisation through 2024 and beyond.

  • CIH’s Corporate Plan, budgets and accounts.
  • management and exercising of all powers of the Institute, apart from those which can only be exercised by the wider membership in general meeting.
  • Risk and Compliance

CIH is fully committed to eliminating discrimination and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion. Applicants will be expected to be willing and able to contribute positively to the promotion and implementation of CIH’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy.

Applicants are welcomed from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and will be expected to demonstrate a strong track record of achievement in their field and as Chair or Vice Chair of trustee/non-executive boards; you are likely to be accustomed to operating at a senior level within an organisational setting and have a strong network of contacts and experience of influencing within and outside of an organisation.

Appointments will be made based on values, skills and experience and CIH particularly welcomes applicants with a background in the following areas:
