Chapter Member Technology / Future Workplace Lead
This role sits within the Technology Chapter and is supported by the Chapter Lead.


Salary range: £40,000 - £45,000, Grade C
Hours: 35 hrs
Location: Home-based
Contract: Permanent

About the Technology Chapter
Expanding our client’s digital capability is fundamental to how they will achieve their objectives. They require technical and non-technical digital capabilities to extend their reach and impact. The Technology Chapter aims to be a centre of excellence for internal digital services that support them in achieving their strategic objectives.
Our client is looking for people who have:
- A good understanding of digital and technology and how it can be used to improve the experience of customers and colleagues
- Specialisation in some aspect of digital or technology
- Understanding of user / customer experience, personas and user journeys and how these affect a user’s experience with digital
- Understanding of accessibility and how to build it into the digital experience
- Knowledge of and experience with digital product development
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in evolving the deployment of our client’s critical enterprise productivity tool, Microsoft 365, which enables the organisation to work efficiently and effectively in delivering their mission. In this post, you will need drive, enthusiasm, and experience in capturing business needs and translating and communicating how enabling technology can support their business goals and make a difference to every single member of the organisation.
With a specialism in developing solutions using Microsoft tools on Microsoft platforms, part of your time would be spent using your skills, knowledge and expertise to work in squads of between six to nine people on exciting and customer focused product development. This involves following agile values and principles and working collaboratively with the product owner and colleagues to deliver on the strategic objectives and value for customers.
What might a day in the life look like?
- You will collaborate with customers, build a stakeholder community and provide insights and communication about this exciting technology that helps our client embrace remote working and find and manage business information
- Through your product management, they will be able to identify, analyse and prioritise the deployment of new Microsoft 365 features, ensuring they continue to meet business requirements, playing an important role in horizon scanning for continued success
- Proactively develop relationships with a range of stakeholders to raise awareness and knowledge of the Microsoft 365 service offering and its potential and continually review and assess the deployment opportunities against current and anticipated business needs, representing the views of the customers
- Report on Microsoft 365 performance both technical and alignment to business requirements, running usage and adoption reports demonstrating the successful application of the technology in line with the roadmap and return on investment
- Lead or participate in work packages and projects working closely with colleagues to implement new or changed features and enhancements, or retire legacy technology, providing subject expertise and a co-ordinated approach with the technical support teams
- Supported by the chapter lead, you will work in your squads and on operational tasks as well as contributing to evolving ‘centre of excellence’ for your skill set
- When working in squads, you will work in harmony to build, test, and deliver products and services that create value for customers
- Maintaining a focus on the task in hand, developing features through working in sprints
- Bring your knowledge, skills, and expertise to develop products incrementally
- Communicating clearly with squad members and other stakeholders
- Reflecting on progress and performance - always looking to improve and keep momentum
- Ensuring that customers can directly influence the features of a product and service
- Sharing wisdom, experience, and knowledge with others

- Microsoft Graph APIs / PowerShell
- Data (Azure / Dataverse / SQL server)

Desirable Criteria
Technical knowledge of one or more of the following:
- SharePoint Online – architecture, security & dev
- O365 & Modern Workplace fundamentals
- Power Platform (BI, Automate, LogicApps)
- Microsoft on-prem AD/Entra
- Microsoft Graph APIs / PowerShell
- Data (Azure / Dataverse / SQL server)
- APIs & integration
- Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of agile values and principles
- BSL Level 1 or above, a good level of hearing impairment awareness and/or working towards BSL level 1 or above
- Understanding and experience of hearing impairment and British Sign Language skills or a willingness to learn
- Confident in using Customer Relationship Management databases with a good overall understanding of the applications of such systems
