RM Recruit are working with a Health and Training charity to recruit a number of trustees to their board.
These are non-salaried role with a time commitment of 3-4 hours a month (max) plus quarterly Board and sub Committee meetings. Together with the other members of the Board of Trustees, be collectively responsible for ensuring:
- The Charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these
- Effective performance monitoring through agreed Over Arching Objectives (OAOs)
- Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and appropriate management of the Charity’s Assets
- Governance processes follow best practice and are of the highest possible standard.
- The board to carries out its duties as guardians of the organisation and its tangible assets
- Effective organisational leadership
The Trustees work in partnership with other Trustee Board members, the Chief Executive and Executive Team to ensure that:
- The Board of Trustees is engaged and aligned to the vision, mission and strategic plan
- The business supports the strategic priorities
- The Chief Executive’s annual and long-term objectives support the achievement of the strategic priorities
- There are effective mechanisms to:
- Review the external environment for changes that might affect the charity
- Review strategic plans and priorities.
- Effective performance monitoring through agreed Key Performance Indicators together with the other Board members;
- Agree with the Chief Executive the annual and strategic Key Performance Indicators against which organisational performance will be measured.
- Ensure that the fundamental values and guiding principles of the Charity are articulated and reflected throughout the Charity’s activities
- Holds the Chief Executive to account, providing support and constructive feedback
- Ensure that the Chief Executive develops a learning organisation whereby all staff are given the opportunity to review their own performance and regularly receive feedback
- Conduct annual reviews with members of the Board of Trustees providing constructive feedback
