About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef Manager to join a prestigious care setting, reporting directly to the Head of Support Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals to residents and staff, adhering to agreed costings. The Chef Manager will play a key role in kitchen operations, food safety, and the training and development of kitchen assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of the kitchen in compliance with relevant legislation, including food safety and health and safety standards.
- Rota management for the kitchen team to ensure effective service delivery.
- Planning and reviewing well-balanced menus every three months, considering specific resident needs.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to kitchen operations in partnership with the Head of Support Services.
- Line management of kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Ordering food and supplies and ensuring meals are served on time and well-presented.
- Managing an electronic ordering system and delivering food hygiene training.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent.
- Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided if necessary).
- Capable of training staff in Basic Food Hygiene.
- Intermediate IT skills for menu planning, rotas, and managing an electronic food ordering system.
- Excellent communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to foster team spirit, delegate effectively, and recognize team efforts.
