Astute's Power team is partnering with a world-wide Sugar Producer to recruit a Chemical Project Engineer for its site in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Project and Program Manager you will:
- Own projects and ensure the associated time, cost and quality integrity is robust and delivered throughout the duration of the project.
- Lead the design, contract, and construction of all associated project work in order to deliver the requirements stated on the full capital investment submission.
- Analyse all options for the project rigorously.
- Select and appoint contractors for the lifecycle of the project to ensure the right resources and skills are in place.
- Develop and manage a strong project schedule based on the stage-gate process to facilitate effective financial and commercial project management.
- Ensure the adherence to corporate project governance procedures and processes, ensuring the correct controls are in place to ensure projects are delivered according to plan.
- Ensure appropriate risk management processes are applied.
- Implement the quality management system to ensure project outputs meet key stakeholders' requirements.
- Provide health and safety leadership for the project teams.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
- HND / degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Experience leading projects in a similar heavy industrial environment, such as refinery, power, chemical sites etc.
- Experience with HAZOP and the associated procedures.
- Project Management certificates would be beneficial.
