Randstad is presently seeking a dedicated Chemistry Teacher to join our team, providing support to a secondary school in Preston. This pivotal role is open from March 2024 until the summer of 2024, with the possibility of a continuation review in September 2024. This role will require a teacher every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to teach chemistry in an outstanding semi rural school. Alternatively, there are other openings starting as soon as April. Schools will offer roles that are both short-term and long-term, with allocation based on your location, qualifications, experience, and preference.

The ideal candidate for the Randstad team should possess a profound passion for chemistry, showcasing a solid understanding of the subject. They should have a robust knowledge of chemistry, adeptly conveying concepts to young minds and demonstrating proficiency in answering questions and facilitating discussions. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be capable of maintaining a positive and productive learning environment to keep students focused. Adaptability to diverse learning styles and a safety-conscious approach to classroom experiments are also essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans
  • Teach allocated classes and provide a well-planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop an approach to self-directed learning, utilising technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and promptly mark assignments
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Address immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning
