Chief Accountant

Ivy Rock Partners are supporting a London Borough to recruit a Chief Accountant for a 6- 9 month period – the role will support the Deputy 151 in completing the Audit process following the final accounts submission.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Line management of two trainee technical accountants
• Act as a key contact to the external auditor in relation to the audit of the statutory accounts
• Liaise with senior management across the authority and resourcing teams and other external bodies as necessary
• Manage VAT and banking reconciliation and ensure that adequate control is maintained in relation to the relevant accounts

The successful candidate

• Will have proven experience of financial accounting in a local government organisation
• Full professional membership of CIPFA or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Knowledge of local government finance, accounting practice and the regulatory framework
