About TWAM

We are a Christian charity that collects unwanted usable tools, refurbishes them, sorts them into trade tool kits and sends them to the developing world for livelihood creation. The impact of our work resonates globally, as we supply refurbished tools to over 500 organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa. These tools equip individuals with the skills needed to completely transform their lives and communities.

In doing so, we also support UK communities through volunteering opportunities, that nurture skills and foster social connections, and contribute significantly to environmental sustainability by reducing waste and carbon emissions in the UK. Through our 'local to global' model, we prevent over 600 tonnes of tools per year from crowding UK landfills.

About you

We are searching for a new Chief Executive, a practising Christian who will, initially lead the stabilisation and consolidation of some of the changes that have been made over the last 18 months, before then working with the board to create the plan for the next strategic development from 2026 onwards. We are looking for a leader who is emotionally intelligent and who comes with clear experience of leading teams through change. Due to our high reliance on volunteers and, only having a small staff team, our new CEO needs to be passionate about people and helping them to find their place and be the best version of themselves that they can be.

We are a small but highly effective charity, so we need a CEO who can bring drive, vision and the ability to plan for the future, but who also knows when to roll their sleeves up and lead by example, and they will be supported by a board of trustees that are very happy to do the same.
