Full - Time, Permanent, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (40 Hours)
The Client:
Our client is a well-established organisation in the cultural and historical sector, driving positive change for individuals with visual impairments through impactful initiatives.
The Role:
As the Chief Executive Officer, you will offer strong and motivating leadership to the committed delivery team, ensuring seamless and compliant operational management of the company.
Responsibilities:
* Manage all human resource aspects, including employment policies, staff contracts, performance management, training, and welfare.
* Create and execute a successful fundraising strategy, conducting research, writing funding bids, and collaborating with freelance fundraising support as needed.
* Head financial and administrative functions, ensuring robust, transparent, and ethical financial processes, systems, and records.
* Lead and manage the core staff team, fostering an inclusive and supportive organisational culture.
* Take charge of external communications, deliver presentations, and contribute to relevant articles, forums, and debates.
* Formulate a strong strategic vision and plan, ensuring efficient operations for the benefit of key stakeholders.
* Prioritise diversity, access, and the interests of blind and visually impaired individuals in all company endeavours.
* Address critical business risks promptly, leading actions to mitigate challenges.
* Be accountable to the Board of Trustees, overseeing operational responsibilities as delegated by the CEO.
Requirements:
* Previously worked as a CEO or in a similar role.
* Proven track record in a senior leadership role.
* Experience with Arts Council England, including roles as Investment Principal Support Organisation (IPSO) and/or National Portfolio Organisation (NPO).
* Prior experience and understanding of the charity sector or publicly funded entities, income generation and successful fundraising strategies.
* Knowledge of marketing and audience development, organisational financial management and associated reporting.
* Familiarity with the blind / visually impaired community.
