Founded in 1903 by teachers from Shrewsbury School, our core aim is to meet the social, recreational, emotional and spiritual needs of young people of all ages.

About the role
The successful candidate will provide dedicated and inspirational strategic leadership to ‘The Shewsy’, working closely in partnership with Shrewsbury School and St Peter’s Church, enabling the club to develop and flourish into the future.
Working with the trustee board, and responsible directly to the Chair of Trustees, the Chief Executive Officer will carefully chart an ambitious strategic course for the future, meeting local needs, both current and emerging.
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for providing leadership, developing and implementing The Shewsy’s strategic and operational plans. They will work closely with the Team Leader (The Senior Youth Worker) to ensure their implementation, leading on partnership and business development, and be an effective and compelling advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries. They will provide strategic leadership and will be responsible for ensuring financial control, and support and advice on good governance across all aspects of the charity.
The appointee will be an enthusiastic and effective advocate for the charity, capable of harnessing the passion and commitment of employees, volunteers, friends and supporters. The hours of work are full-time; however, we may be flexible for candidates wanting to work compressed or part-time hours
