The Organisation
The Health Insurance Authority ("the Authority") is the statutory regulator of the health insurance sector in Ireland. The Authority plays a key role as an independent regulator, a provider of consumer information, an adviser to the Minister for Health and as the custodian of the Health Insurance Risk Equalisation Fund. The Authority is a small, dynamic organisation that is committed to delivering on its vision of a well-regulated, competitive health insurance market where consumers are empowered to make informed decisions.
The Role
The Authority seeks applications from high-calibre candidates for the position of Chief Executive/Registrar. This is a key role within the organisation and will provide effective leadership to the organisation in the implementation of its key functions in the public interest, delivered in accordance with the Authority's mission, vision and core values. The role will also be responsible for maintaining standards of corporate governance and the promotion of a culture of quality public service and legislative adherence.
The Person
The successful candidate must demonstrate leadership experience at a senior management level in the private or public sector. They must have experience in developing and implementing strategic plans in collaboration with Boards of Management, with proven negotiating and influencing skills and ability to represent the Authority's interests to all external constituencies. They will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
