The Catholic Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh is seeking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer.
The Archdiocese covers an area from the Borders to Fife, encompassing East and West Lothian, Stirlingshire and East Dunbartonshire. It comprises 110 Parishes, over 90 Schools and twenty-nine Religious Communities.
Reporting to a Board of Trustees, the Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the overall leadership and line management of support services teams encompassing Finance, Safeguarding, Property (including Mount Vernon Cemetery), Health and Safety, Communications, Chancery and Education. These services are provided from within the structure of the Archdiocese Curia which is tasked with providing the necessary support to enable the Archdiocese to achieve its stated objectives.
Applicants should possess an appropriate professional qualification and/or be educated to degree level or equivalent. Previous experience should include a relevant leadership and management role at a senior level in a diverse organisation and sound financial and business management knowledge. Applicants should also have a good knowledge of Scottish Charity legislation. An empathy for the work of the Catholic Church in Scotland is also crucial.
