The Financial Reporting Council (FRC)’s mission is to serve the public interest by setting high standards of corporate governance, reporting and audit, and holding to account those responsible for delivering them.
The FRC has been through a period of significant transformation, increasing its impact and influence and building its capability and capacity. Under the leadership of a new Chief Executive, the FRC is now looking to build on this momentum and growth, by focusing on its core public purpose. Alongside supporting public trust and confidence in audit, corporate reporting and governance, it will play a key role in supporting and contributing to UK economic growth and competitiveness.
The new Chief Operating Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will provide leadership across the core areas of corporate services, including HR, Finance, IT and Estates. Operating at a strategic level, they will ensure the provision of best-in-class corporate services across the organisation. In support of the FRC’s continued evolution as an important UK regulator, the COO will lead teams to ensure that high quality financial strategy, operating systems and a strong people and culture strategy underpin the organisation and its effective operation.
The successful candidate will combine senior leadership and management experience with a strong understanding of the role of public service agencies. They will bring demonstrable experience as a proven COO and be comfortable leading across a range of functional areas, or be ready to step into a COO position, having gained broader organisational experience alongside a depth of experience in one area.
