Job description
The post-holder provides an essential role in managing the administration of Child Protection Medicals, Pre-adoption Medicals and Child Mortality. You will work closely with Paediatricians, the Safeguarding Team and external agencies such as Police and Social Services. This is a varied role which requires the ability to plan, organise and communicate effectively at all levels. You will need to be flexible in order to meet the competing demands of the role and be able to work to deadlines. In return, you will work within a supportive and friendly environment, where the team care as much for each other as they do for patients and visitors. We would welcome visits to the department.
To act as the primary Hospital contact between Social Services, the Police and other parties
To co-ordinate examinations for children as requested,for Child Protection medicals and pre-adoption medicals including maintaining a database of attendees and reports produced
Co-ordinate Child Death Review Meetings and maintain the Child Death database, supporting both the Designated Doctor and Named Nurse for Child Death
Co-ordination and liaison with other departments within the Trust to ensure that all information is collected and stored correctly
Take and type minutes of internal Child Protection and safeguarding meetings, ensuring a timely distribution
Work together with the safeguarding administrator to ensure the smooth running of the safeguarding department
